Make Up Magic for Women over 50

Some may feel that makeup is only about vanity. But to me, it’s about us facing the world with an inner and outer glow that comes from deep within where we are still little girls who dream and aspire. It’s fun, it’s creative and it makes us smile a little more – inside and out.

To me …. that’s beautiful!

Hi and welcome! I have a question for you—since beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, what do you see when you look in the mirror?

For me, I see a life of value, nurtured by my inner reflections, hopes, and dreams. Always optimistic, but never fully satisfied with who I have been or who I might become.

And if you’re wondering what I’m talking about—well, I’m simply saying that I’m a work in progress, and I’m guessing you are too, since you’re here. No matter our age, we should always be evolving, learning, and growing.

About My Channel

My channel, New Age Beauty, is all about learning from one another through the magic of social media—how we can be and feel more beautiful inside and out—mind, body, and spirit.

From the 1970s to now, in my 70s, I’ve worked every single day to be a little better than yesterday. Now, at 75, I have decades of experience working on myself—never allowing myself to give up on me.

This channel is about feeling more confident as we age, living up to our own expectations and aspirations.

Why Makeup?

One of the many things we can do for ourselves is embrace makeup—a passion of mine since 1970. At 19, I won Best Makeup at a pageant in New York City, competing among top models from across the country.

That moment was huge for me. I was recruited by top agencies and global cosmetics companies, but life took an unexpected turn, and I wasn’t able to follow that dream. Yet, my love for makeup has never faded.

I continue to dabble, experiment, and evolve—striving to be a little better today than yesterday.

Makeup Is More Than Vanity

To some, makeup might seem like vanity. To me, it’s about facing the world with an inner and outer glow. It’s about embracing the little girl within us—the one who dreams and aspires.

Makeup is fun, creative, and empowering—and anything that makes us smile a little more, inside or out, is beautiful to me.

Today’s Video: Products I’ve Used for Over 20 Years

For my very first makeup video, I’m showcasing the products I’ve used for decades—some for 20, 30, even 40 years because I haven’t found anything better!

Many of these products might be in your collection, or maybe you’ve used them in the past. Let me know in the comments!

I’ll also share newer favorites in an upcoming video. But after 57+ years of experimenting with makeup, I’ve learned it all comes down to contrast and color.

Contrast: Start with a blank canvas, diminish what you want to recede, and highlight what you want to bring forward.

Color: Enhance your natural features—your eyes, cheeks, and lips—to create the best version of yourself.

Makeup is more art than science, and today, I’m doing a “Get Ready With Me” with products I’ve trusted for decades.
