Here’s a question I had to answer when building my site: If beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, what do you see when you look in the mirror?
For me, I choose to see a life shaped by reflection, hope, and continual growth. I may be 75, but I still strive to become the best version of myself—physically, mentally, emotionally. Whether it’s makeup, skincare, a creative project, or a fitness milestone, pursuing something new fuels my passion.
And passion? Passion is the secret elixir that transforms our days.
Fitness and Confidence After 70
I never expected to be stronger in my 70s than I’d ever been, but here I am. Through resistance training and consistency, my body has changed. My confidence has grown. Aging beautifully isn’t about pretending to be younger—it’s about being your best self now.
Why Makeup Still Matters
Makeup isn’t superficial. It’s joyful. It’s creative. It connects us to that little girl who once loved playing dress-up. Since my modeling days in the 70s, I’ve always loved doing my own makeup. It’s a ritual that helps me feel polished, confident, and radiant.
Yes, I’ve had a few cosmetic procedures and skin treatments over the years, both at home and in-office, to keep my skin smooth and lifted. I disclose everything I’ve done in my video “Face Facts.”
But makeup? Makeup adds the finishing touch – which is why I’m sharing this makeup tutorial for mature skin.
My Full Makeup Tutorial for Mature Skin (With Luxury Products)
This tutorial was requested by several viewers. I walk through my full face routine using my favorite luxury products. It’s long, but I’ve added chapters in the description box for easy navigation.

Step 1: Creating the Canvas With Foundation
I start with a blank canvas using Christian Dior Foundation Stick (Shade 1.5N). It’s creamy, hydrating, and ideal for dry or mature skin. I use the BK Beauty 101 brush to press and blend it into my skin for a natural, translucent finish.
Step 2: Brightening With Concealer
My favorite concealer combo? Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Concealer in two shades: 1W (light/warm) and 2.5C (cool/medium). I layer the lighter shade to highlight under eyes and other areas, then add the darker shade to blend and prevent the “raccoon” look.
Tools I love: BK Beauty x Nikki La Rose concealer brush and a damp beauty blender to smooth edges.
Step 3: Sculpting With Contour
To add dimension, I contour using the Dior Contour Stick (Shade 01 Light). I apply it directly and blend with the BK Beauty 115 brush, using upward strokes to keep the face lifted. For seamless blending, I go over everything lightly with the foundation brush.
Step 4: Adding a Flush of Color
My favorite blush is Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks in “Dodo”. I apply it on the tops of my cheekbones and blend upward using the BK Beauty 109 brush.
Step 5: Enhancing Facial Features
Using Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Complexion Brush, I:
- Lightly contour the sides of my nose.
- Add shading below the bottom lip and chin.
- Blend everything seamlessly.
Step 6: Prepping the Eyes
I apply City Beauty Lid Lifting Treatment to the crease area. It’s a subtle lift, but every bit helps.
