Why I’m Sharing My Treatments

After my first three videos on the launch of my channel, I received several requests to discuss the treatments and procedures I have had done.

So today, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone to share what has worked well for me.

As we age, it’s natural to be concerned about how we are perceived by others—especially if, like me, you are still working and competing with younger professionals. It can feel daunting.

But here’s what I’ve come to realize:

  • Is our perception creating our reality, or is our reality creating our perception of our reality?
  • How we feel about ourselves plays a huge role in how we show up in the world.
  • If we think we look good, we tend to feel good.

Self-care and self-improvement are important to most people, including me. My goal is to have the strength, stamina, and marketability to continue working indefinitely.

When I was in my early 60s, I had cosmetic surgery on my eyes and lower face and was pleased with the results. However, 12 years later and 20 pounds lighter, I expected more sagging. Instead, with the help of new technology, in-office treatments, and at-home devices, I feel I look better now than I did then.

Now, I’m sharing those treatments and routines with you.

The Seven Key Elements of Facial Aging

I always thought the face aged due to gravity, but I’ve learned there are seven key elements that contribute to aging—many of which can be treated without surgery.

1. Loss of Collagen & Elastin

Collagen provides skin with strength and structure, while elastin allows it to bounce back. Starting in our 20s, collagen production declines by about 1% per year, leading to wrinkles and sagging.

Fortunately, there are non-surgical treatments—both in-office and at home—that can help boost collagen and elastin levels.

2. Fat Loss

Facial fat pads shrink and shift over time, leading to a hollowed or sagging appearance, especially around the cheeks and eyes.

3. Bone Resorption

Facial bones lose density and shrink, altering the structure that supports our facial fat. This can contribute to skin sagging and an aged appearance.

4. Slower Skin Cell Turnover

As we age, old skin cells shed more slowly, leading to dullness, dryness, wrinkles, and uneven texture.

5. Muscle Laxity

Facial muscles weaken over time, contributing to volume loss and exaggerating sagging.

6. Hormonal Changes

Decreasing estrogen and growth hormones affect fat distribution and lead to further loss of volume in the face.

7. Lifestyle Factors

Things within our control—such as sun exposure, smoking, dehydration, and poor diet—can accelerate collagen breakdown and facial fat loss, making aging more noticeable.

My In-Office Treatments

These are the treatments I’ve done over the years—some as one-time procedures, others as part of ongoing maintenance. Many of these treatments also have at-home alternatives that provide similar benefits at a lower cost.

1. Radio Frequency Microneedling

  • What it does: Improves skin texture, firmness, and tightness by stimulating collagen production.
  • How it works: Uses heat energy and ultra-thin needles to create controlled micro-injuries, triggering skin regeneration.
  • Results: I had three sessions five years ago and saw noticeable skin tightening on my face and neck, plus improved texture.
  • Caution: This treatment can melt fat in the face, so it’s important to see an experienced provider.

2. Botox & Neurotoxins

  • What it does: Temporarily relaxes facial muscles to smooth wrinkles and fine lines.
  • How it works: Blocks nerve signals to prevent muscle contractions.
  • Results: I’ve been using Botox for over 25 years, mainly in my forehead, crow’s feet, and corners of the mouth to prevent frown lines.
  • Bonus Effect: Botox can also reduce stress and tension headaches by relaxing facial muscles.

3. Dermal Fillers

  • What they do: Restore lost volume in the cheeks, jawline, and under-eye area.
  • Types used: I prefer collagen-stimulating fillers like Sculptra and Radiesse, which encourage the skin to produce its own collagen over time.
  • Results: I started using these last year, and they provide a more gradual and natural effect compared to traditional fillers.

My At-Home Treatments

I use several advanced beauty devices at home for maintenance. These require only a few minutes, a few times a week, yet provide significant long-term benefits.

1. Red Light Therapy

  • Stimulates collagen and elastin production
  • Evens skin tone, reduces wrinkles, and increases hydration
  • Helps reduce inflammation and redness from rosacea

I use the Maysama LED Light Therapy Mask and Chin2Chest device several times a week (use code LYNDALED for 10% off either device).

2. Solawave 4-in-1 Skincare Wand

  • Combines red light therapy, galvanic current, facial massage, and warmth
  • Helps lift the cheeks, jawline, and brows
  • Feels amazing and provides visible results within three weeks

3. Microcurrent Therapy

  • Tones and lifts facial muscles
  • Tightens and firms the skin
  • Stimulates collagen and elastin production

I use the FOREO Bear 2 for overall lifting and toning, and the FOREO Bear 2 Eyes & Lips for delicate areas like the eyes and lips.

Final Thoughts

These at-home and in-office treatments have helped me maintain my appearance and feel more confident as I age.

However, the best anti-aging tool is exercise. Not only will you feel better and function better, but you will also look better in every way.

I didn’t start exercising regularly until my late 60s, which I now regret. If you’re interested in learning how I got started with home workouts, check out this video.
