Turning 75 this year was a major milestone, and it inspired me to launch my channel to share what I’ve learned about getting fit, and maintaining your vitality, confidence, and relevance.

My Inspiration

In my late 60s, I had a wake-up call that pushed me to reclaim my strength and energy. I had become a real estate agent after a career in marketing, and one day, I was showing a new condo building that was still under construction, so there was no elevator service. We had to walk up four flights of stairs, and by the time we reached the bottom of the third stairwell, I was gasping for air, and I had to sit on the steps to rest.

My clients were so concerned they took me by the arm and physically helped me get up those last two flights of stairs. I was embarrassed and mortified but mostly deeply concerned about what was becoming of me. I realized I was losing my strength, energy, and vitality and it was affecting my ability to succeed.

That very week (after getting angry and frustrated at myself) I set out on a new journey to change the inevitable path that comes when you surrender to normal aging.

Setting Attainable Goals With a Positive Mindset

I began by getting clear about my goals. I established bold milestones and set myself up to succeed since I knew time was not on my side. I’d had a few failed attempts over the years, and I strongly believed those failures were due to a lack of a strong mental foundation before I began. I knew I needed to find solutions that would fit within my current lifestyle, with my family and career.

I also knew I had to establish and maintain a positive mindset. For me, a positive outlook on life is everything. I truly believe that maintaining an optimistic attitude has a huge impact on my overall well-being and appearance. When you feel good inside, it shows on the outside.

Staying Physically Active

Going to the gym on a regular basis is not sustainable for me, so I have developed my own programs from watching various instructors and techniques that focus on exercising at home.

Like many of you, I’m limited by space, so I focused on programs that required limited equipment that is easily stored to help me maintain my goals. The magic elixir for me turned out to be combining resistance training using a TRX hung over the bathroom door with free weights and a bench set up in a small space in my sitting room. I have upsized and adjusted my equipment since then, but everything fits into a cabinet or under the bed for easy access and useability.

Staying active is probably my most important tip for staying young over 50. Whether it’s swimming, walking, practicing yoga or strength training at home, I truly believe regular exercise contributes to my youthful energy and helps me feel my best,

Prioritizing Skincare and The Power Of Makeup

I cannot stress enough the importance of using quality skincare in minimizing the effects of aging. I swear by these four essential steps: cleanse, exfoliate, nourish, and protect—along with treatments like microcurrent and red-light therapy. Always make sure to cleanse your skin gently, moisturize regularly, and never skip sunscreen. Protecting my skin from harmful UV rays has kept it healthy and glowing. Makeup is a wonderful tool when used thoughtfully. As a former model, I am passionate about skincare and cosmetics, always evaluating new products and curating makeup trends to suit my personal style and taste. I appreciate makeup is mostly superficial in its value, yet if it boosts your confidence and helps you shine a little brighter and smile a little more … to me, THAT’S BEAUTIFUL!

As a former model in the 1970s I have always maintained an Aesthetics protocol and consider myself pretty adept at cosmetics and skin care after so many years. However, with the challenge of aging, you quickly learn to be more proactive in this new age of beauty.

I believe it’s so important to stay open to new ideas and adapt to changes. I keep myself updated with the latest science on skincare as well as beauty trends and incorporate what works best for me.
